Catalog No. AE497
Circa: 1895-1900
Price: $3,850 for the pair
Orientation: Vertical or horizontal
Condition: Very fine
Provenance: San Francisco, California
Dimensions: 18" X 50" glass size each. 22" X 54.25" framed size each.
Description: These original beveled sidelights speak for themselves. They can be employed as door panels or as sidelights. The glass is extra thick, which makes for excellent prismatic effects. I will happily send additional photos if you ask. I'd like to keep the two together, so I am selling them as a pair. .
One of the windows has a cracked piece which should be repaired. My craftsmen can seamlessly repair this piece using vintage glass for a reasonable additional charge.
The frames are made of finely crafted, straight-grained oak which retains its original natural finish. Beautiful oak frames like these are anything-but-common, as window sashes were traditionally constructed from soft woods, and most of them ended up being painted.
